Danièle Proner

was born and grew up in Ile-de-France, where her parents taught fine arts. After graduating high school, she studied in Paris at La Grande Chaumière, l'Atelier Met de Penninghen and École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts. She also studied with renowned stage designer Josef Svoboda during a long stay in Prague which deeply touched her soul and strongly influenced her life.

1976 Danièle moved to the United States. Later she lived in Saudi Arabia, where she continued her art career. There she had the honor of being selected to inaugurate the new Art and Culture Palace in Riyadh with a solo show.

Returning to the US in 1982, she settled in the San Francisco Bay Area where she found her own little patch of paradise - a rambling cottage filled with animals, flowers and birds nestled among the trees high in the Oakland hills. While raising her two children here, Danièle taught art and regularly exhibited her work. The fruits of her talent included “aquarelles” on silk, oils on canvas, red-chalk sketches of horses, pencil drawings and many commissioned murals for schools, hospitals, private homes and other venues, many of which you can see in her online gallery. In addition, she began hand-painting portraits of cats and dogs on smooth beach stones, trademarked “Rocat™” and “Rokdog™,” which became the foundation of RokAnimart. Now her primary focus, Danièle currently accepts commissions for her RokAnimart creations as well as her oil paintings and murals.

Danièle has dedicated her themes to nature and animals, while exploring the effects of light and shadow in multi-dimensional perspectives through her oil paintings. Her work has been displayed at major shows in Europe, including La Sorbonne, and in the United States. She continuously exhibits her Rocat™ and Rokdog™ creations, horse sketches, drawings and paintings with great success and well-deserved praise.
